Job Description – Accountant

Position: Accountant

About the Role

We are looking for a responsible and detail-oriented Accountant with approximately 2 years of experience in accounting and finance-related work. The candidate should have practical knowledge of day-to-day accounting, GST, purchase and sales billing, bank transactions, cheque management, and stock maintenance.

The candidate will be required to work on MARK Software for accounting and related activities. Knowledge of other accounting or financial software will be an added advantage.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage day-to-day accounting and bookkeeping activities.

• Work regularly on MARK Software for accounting and related operations.

• Prepare, verify, and maintain purchase and sales bills/invoices.

• Check and maintain records of bank cheques, deposits, withdrawals, and other bank transactions.

• Maintain proper accounting records and supporting documents.

• Handle GST-related work, including invoices, input tax credit, GST returns, and basic GST compliance.

• Maintain and update stock/inventory records.

• Perform bank reconciliation and verify bank transactions.

• Maintain records of accounts payable and receivable.

• Track outstanding payments and receivables.

• Maintain records of expenses, purchases, sales, and other financial transactions.

• Assist in preparing monthly accounting and financial reports.

• Ensure timely and accurate accounting entries.

• Coordinate with vendors, customers, banks, and management for account-related matters.

• Maintain proper filing of invoices, bills, cheques, and other financial documents.

• Perform other accounting and finance-related work as assigned.

Required Skills & Qualifications

• B.Com / M.Com / Accounting or related qualification preferred.

• Approximately 2 years of practical accounting experience.

• Good knowledge of accounting principles and bookkeeping.

• Practical knowledge of GST and GST-related documentation.

• Experience in handling purchase and sales bills/invoices.

• Knowledge of bank reconciliation and cheque management.

• Experience in stock/inventory maintenance.

• Working knowledge of MARK Software is required.

• Knowledge of Tally, MS Excel, or other accounting/financial software will be an added advantage.

• Good numerical and analytical skills.

• Strong attention to detail and accuracy.

• Good organizational and record-keeping skills.

• Ability to work independently and manage day-to-day accounting activities.

Preferred Candidate

The ideal candidate should be responsible, organized, detail-oriented, and capable of independently handling regular accounting operations.

Experience: 2 Years Approx.
Qualification: B.Com / M.Com preferred
Software: MARK Software – Required | Knowledge of other accounting software – Advantage
