This is a full-time, on-site role for an Assistant Accountant located in Kandivali (West). The Assistant Accountant will be responsible for preparing financial documents such as invoices, bills, and accounts payable and receivable. They will also be responsible for reconciling bank statements, maintaining accurate records, supporting the preparation of budgets, and entering financial data into accounting systems. Additionally, they will assist with audits, and ensure compliance with financial regulations.
Key Responsibilities
Manage all day-to-day accounting transactions in Tally or similar software
Prepare and process financial transactions including accounts payable and receivable, journal entries, and reconciliations
Prepare sales invoices, credit/debit notes and process expense requests
Conduct monthly reconciliation of bank statements, credit cards, and petty cash
Maintain accurate ledgers and organized financial records
Assist in GST and TDS computations and timely tax return preparation
Ensure timely payments and monitor outstanding receivables and payables
Support external audits: provide required documentation and assist in compliance checks
Generate payment reminders and maintain follow-ups with clients/vendors
Respond to internal and external queries related to billing, payments, or account status
Perform any additional accounting-related tasks as assigned
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting and Finance
2+ years of hands-on experience in an accounting/assistant accountant/finance role
Advanced proficiency in Tally and MS Excel
Strong attention to detail and high degree of accuracy in work
Good understanding of GST, TDS, and basic statutory compliance
Ability to work independently and prioritise multiple tasks effectively
Excellent communication and organisational skills
Able to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive data securely
Familiarity with Indian accounting standards and corporate finance principles
