About the Role

We are looking for a detail-oriented and knowledgeable Accountant / Junior Accountant with 1–3 years of hands-on experience in Accounting, Bookkeeping, GST Compliance, Income Tax Return Filing, TDS, ROC/Company Incorporation, and Financial Documentation.

The ideal candidate should have practical experience in managing day-to-day accounting operations, preparing and filing tax returns, handling statutory compliance, maintaining books of accounts, and supporting business financial processes with accuracy and efficiency.

This role is ideal for candidates who have worked in CA firms, accounting firms, consultancy firms, tax advisory firms, or finance departments and possess strong knowledge of Indian taxation and accounting compliance.

Key Responsibilities

1. Accounting & Bookkeeping

• Maintain day-to-day accounting entries in accounting software such as Tally Prime / Busy / Zoho Books / QuickBooks / ERP.

• Handle complete bookkeeping activities including:

• Sales entries

• Purchase entries

• Receipt & payment entries

• Journal entries

• Contra entries

• Credit note / Debit note entries

• Maintain Ledger Scrutiny and reconcile books regularly.

• Prepare and maintain:

• Cash Book

• Bank Book

• Journal Register

• Purchase Register

• Sales Register

• General Ledger

• Manage Accounts Payable (AP) and Accounts Receivable (AR).

• Perform bank reconciliation and vendor/customer reconciliation.

• Ensure proper maintenance of financial records, vouchers, invoices, and supporting documents.

• Assist in monthly, quarterly, and yearly closing of books.

2. GST Compliance & Filing

• Strong knowledge of GST accounting and compliance.

• Prepare and file GST Returns accurately and on time, including:

• GSTR-1

• GSTR-3B

• GSTR-9

• GSTR-9C (if applicable)

• Handle:

• Input Tax Credit (ITC) reconciliation

• GST liability calculation

• GST ledger reconciliation

• Mismatch analysis

• Work on GST notices, replies, and basic departmental follow-up.

• Reconcile GST data with books and portal.

• Ensure proper HSN/SAC classification and GST treatment in transactions.

• Support in GST registration, amendment, cancellation, and LUT-related work if required.

3. Income Tax Return Filing (All Types)

• Good to strong practical knowledge of Income Tax Return (ITR) filing.

• Prepare and file all applicable types of Income Tax Returns, including:

• ITR-1

• ITR-2

• ITR-3

• ITR-4

• ITR-5

• ITR-6

• ITR-7 (basic knowledge preferred)

• Assist in:

• Tax computation for Individuals, Firms, LLPs, Companies

• Capital gain calculation

• Business/professional income computation

• Presumptive taxation

• Deductions under various sections

• Prepare supporting documents for:

• Tax audits

• Assessments

• Notices

• Refund follow-ups

• Knowledge of advance tax, self-assessment tax, and tax payment challans.

• Ability to handle basic income tax notices/replies is preferred.

4. TDS / TCS Compliance

• Deduction and accounting of TDS on applicable transactions.

• Prepare and file TDS Returns:

• 24Q

• 26Q

• 27Q (basic knowledge preferred)

• Generate and issue Form 16 / Form 16A.

• Reconcile 26AS / AIS / TIS with books.

• Knowledge of TDS on salary, contractor, professional fees, rent, commission, etc.

• Basic understanding of TCS compliance will be an added advantage.

5. Company Incorporation / ROC / MCA Compliance

• Knowledge of Company Incorporation / LLP Incorporation process.

• Basic to good understanding of:

• MCA portal

• DIN / DSC

• Name reservation

• SPICe+ forms

• Company/LLP registration process

• Assist in ROC/MCA compliances such as:

• DIR-3 KYC

• AOC-4

• MGT-7 / MGT-7A

• ADT-1

• DPT-3

• MSME-1

• Other basic annual ROC filing support

• Maintain statutory compliance records and due date tracking.

• Coordinate for company-related documentation and filings.

6. Financial Reporting & MIS

• Prepare basic MIS reports for management.

• Assist in preparation of:

• Profit & Loss Statement

• Balance Sheet

• Cash Flow Summary

• Expense Reports

• Receivable / Payable Aging Reports

• Support in budgeting, expense tracking, and financial analysis.

• Provide reports and data required by management, auditors, or consultants.

7. Audit & Compliance Support

• Support during:

• Internal Audit

• Statutory Audit

• Tax Audit

• GST Audit / Reconciliation

• Prepare schedules, reconciliations, and supporting documentation for auditors.

• Ensure accounting records are maintained in line with compliance requirements.

• Maintain proper filing of financial and tax documents for future reference.

Eligibility Criteria

  • B.Com / M.Com / BBA (Finance) / MBA (Finance) preferred

  • Candidates with experience in CA Firm / Tax Consultancy / Accounting Firm / Corporate Accounts Department will be preferred

  • 1 to 3 years of practical experience in accounting and tax compliance

  • Candidates should be comfortable handling multiple clients/accounts (if for CA/consultancy environment)
