Key Responsibilities
Account Management: Visit assigned retail, grocery, and food service accounts to take orders, introduce new beverage products, and pitch promotional opportunities.
Merchandising & Replenishment: Rotate stock, clean shelves, and build high-impact promotional displays to stimulate consumer sales. This involves significant physical labor, including lifting/pushing cases weighing 25 to 45 lbs.
Relationship Building: Establish and maintain strong, collaborative relationships with store managers and owners to secure prime shelf space and resolve any delivery or inventory issues.
Sales Execution: Utilize the "8 Steps of a Pepsi Sales Call" (Preparation, Greeting, Store Check, Merchandising, Ordering, Presentation, Debrief, and Administration) to maximize efficiency and sales outcomes.
Route & Admin Duties: Manage delivery schedules, maintain accurate logs and paperwork, and operate company equipment (e.g., U-boats, hand trucks, pallet jacks).
Typical Qualifications & Requirements
Education & Experience: Post-secondary education (Bachelor’s degree preferred) with 1 to 2 years of direct consumer product (FMCG) or direct store delivery (DSD) experience.
Physical Capability: Must be comfortable being on your feet and physically capable of loading, unloading, and moving heavy cases of product daily.
Licensing: A valid driver's license with a clean driving record and access to a personal vehicle (for local travel/milage reimbursement) is frequently required.
Skill Set: Strong communication, negotiation, and analytical skills (ability to understand ROI models and manage data).
