1. Job Summary
The Key Account Manager will be responsible for driving strategic relationships and revenue growth. The role also involves business development, client retention, contract negotiation and cross-functional coordination with internal teams to deliver excellent service.
2. Key Responsibilities
Strategic Account Management
· Identify potential customers and convert them to key accounts in line with the company’s growth strategy.
· Manage and grow sales within the assigned territory covering hospitals, nursing homes, clinics, diagnostic labs, pharmacies, and distributors.
· Serve as the single point of contact for key clients, ensuring business continuity and high customer satisfaction.
· Develop customized solutions and proposals based on account needs, product portfolios, and service expectations.
· Achieve revenue, profitability, and account expansion targets for assigned accounts/region.
· Track client procurement cycles, business expansion plans, and competitor presence to proactively plan account strategies.
Sales Support & Order Management
· Conduct regular visits, follow-ups and engage with key decision-makers such as doctors, biomedical engineers, purchase managers, and pharmacists.
· Negotiate long-term contracts, pricing structures, service-level agreements (SLAs), and payment terms with key clients.
· Ensure timely renewals and price revisions in alignment with market trends and internal policies.
· Track competitor activities, pricing strategies, and market trends, and provide insights to management.
· Conduct and coordinate product availability, promotional campaigns, demos, training sessions, and product briefings for customers and partners as required.
· Support the Sales team with follow-ups, meeting schedules and reporting.
· Comply with regulatory guidelines and company policies during all sales activities.
· Conduct quarterly business reviews (QBRs) with clients and share performance insights.
· Mentor junior sales executives/associates, support onboarding, and share best practices for field success.
Documentation & Reporting
· Maintain sales dashboards, sales forecasts and activity reports using applicable tools or MS tools.
· Report key metrics such as order pipeline, gross margin performance and any potential risk to leadership.
3. Educational Qualifications & Experience
· Bachelor’s degree in Commerce, Science, Pharmacy, Marketing or Business (BBA/B.Com/B.Sc preferred).
· MBA/PGDM is a plus.
· 8–10 years of experience in B2B / sales, preferably from the medical supply or healthcare industry.
· Proven success in managing large key accounts and high-revenue clients.
· Strong knowledge of institutional B2B selling in the healthcare ecosystem.
· Strong network with hospital purchase heads, procurement authorities and healthcare stakeholders.
Experience Flexibility
· Candidates with strong on-field sales experience in Pharma, Surgical, Healthcare or related products will be preferred.
· The standard experience requirement is 8–10 years as specified in the JD; however, exceptionally strong candidates with approximately 3–5 years of relevant experience may also be considered.
4. Skills Required
· Excellent verbal, written communication and presentation skills.
· Local language knowledge will be a plus to aid in handling customers and clients.
· Strong proficiency in MS tools, including Excel, and familiarity with ERP/CRM systems.
· Good knowledge of Excel, reporting and analysis, as these are an important part of the role.
· Key account and relationship management skills.

· Ability to travel across the region as per business needs.

5. Key Role Expectations
· Strong on-field sales experience in Pharma, Surgical, Healthcare or related products is essential.
· The base location is Bangalore, with regular travel across Karnataka, particularly North Karnataka.
· The candidate should be comfortable managing field visits, client relationships, reporting, analysis and sales follow-ups.
· The candidate should be capable of independently managing key accounts while coordinating effectively with internal teams.
6. Compensation
₹40,000 – ₹45,000 NTH per month (Net Take Home).
