We are looking for an experienced Sales Manager with 5+ years of FMCG sales
experience, preferably in the air freshener / home fragrance category with exposure to
brands similar to Iris. The candidate should have strong expertise in retail sales, distributor handling, B2B sales, medical distributor network, housekeeping distributor network, and must be capable of driving primary, secondary, and tertiary sales.
The role requires excellent people management skills to guide and achieve targets througha team of 3–4 sales executives/promoters.
Key Responsibilities
A. Sales & Target Achievement
• Achieve monthly, quarterly, and annual primary, secondary, and tertiary sales targets.
• Ensure 100% target achievement of promoter and sales executive team.
• Develop and execute beat plans, market coverage strategies, and route-to-market
planning.
B. Team Management
• Lead, train, and motivate a team of 3–4 sales executives/promoters.
• Monitor team performance, productivity, daily sales reports, and market activities.
• Conduct regular market visits and joint working.
C. Distributor & Channel Management
• Appoint, onboard, and manage FMCG distributors, including General Trade, Modern
Trade, Medical distributors, and Housekeeping / Institutional distributors.
• Manage distributor ROI, claim settlements, stock levels, and order cycles.
• Build strong relationships with channel partners.
D. Retail & Market Operations
• Ensure visibility, planogram execution, and availability across retail stores.
• Strong experience working with modern trade, general trade, and housekeeping.
• Regular tracking of competition, schemes, pricing, and market insights.
E. B2B Sales & Institutional Sales
• Drive B2B sales with corporates, hotels, hospitals, housekeeping agencies, and facility
management companies.
• Build long-term business relationships and recurring orders.
F. Reporting & MIS
• Maintain daily, weekly, and monthly sales reports.
• Analyse sales trends, market opportunities, and team productivity.
• Present business reviews to management.
Candidate Requirements
• 8–10 years of experience in FMCG, specifically air freshener, fragrance, home care, or
hygiene categories or Ayurvedic categories.
• Experience with category brands preferred.
• Proven track record in handling distributors & promoters, achieving sales targets, and
managing B2B and retail sales.
• Strong knowledge of primary, secondary, and tertiary sales.
• Ability to lead a small sales team with high accountability.
• Good communication, negotiation, and market relationship-building skills.
• Proficient in Excel, sales reporting, and MIS.
