Job Summary:
The Business Development Manager (BDM) is responsible for developing and executing
strategic plans to achieve business goals. This includes identifying new business
opportunities, building key customer relationships, negotiating and closing business deals,
and maintaining extensive knowledge of current market conditions.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Business Strategy & Growth:
Develop growth strategies focused on both financial gain and customer satisfaction.
Conduct research to identify new markets and customer needs.
Drive expansion plans, partnerships, and revenue opportunities.
2. Sales & Client Acquisition:
Generate leads through networking, referrals, and proactive outreach.
Plan and oversee new marketing initiatives and client acquisition strategies. Arrange business meetings with prospective clients.
3. Relationship Management:
Build long-term relationships with new and existing customers.
Understand client needs and offer solutions that align with their objectives.
Act as a trusted advisor, maintaining high levels of client satisfaction.
4. Proposal & Negotiation:
Prepare business proposals and presentations.
Negotiate contracts, pricing, and terms to secure business deals.
Follow up on proposals and close deals efficiently.
5. Market Analysis & Reporting:
Track and analyze market trends, customer feedback, and competitors.
Provide insights and strategic input to improve products and services.
Maintain and update CRM systems and report regularly on performance.
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Marketing, or a related field.
2–7 years of experience in business development, sales, or related roles.
Strong understanding of sales principles and customer relationship management.
Excellent negotiation, communication, and presentation skills.
Proficiency in MS Office and CRM tools like Salesforce or HubSpot.
Preferred Skills:
Sales and target orientation
Product knowledge and confidence in product detailing
Relationship building and networking
Time management and reporting
Experience in [specific industry – e.g., tech, real estate, SaaS, FMCG].
Ability to work in a fast-paced, target-driven environment.
Salary Range: ₹18,000 -₹35,000per month (based on experience and interview
performance)
