Fashion Merchandiser

Position: Junior Buyer/Merchandiser Industry: Fashion and Lifestyle Retail Experience: 0 – 2 years Salary: ₹3-4.2 Lakhs CTC per annum (Salary depends on experience and capability) Languages: English and Hindi (Working knowledge of Tamil/Kannada preferred. Job Summary:

As a Junior Buyer/Merchandiser in the Fashion and Lifestyle retail sector, you will play a key role in sourcing, selecting, and managing a range of products to be sold across our retail outlets. You will work closely with senior buyers, vendors, and various internal teams to ensure the right products are sourced in line with customer demand and market trends.

Key Responsibilities:

 Product Selection & Sourcing: Assist in sourcing new products and reviewing the existing merchandise to ensure a competitive and fresh offering in all retail outlets.

 Market Analysis & Trends: Stay updated on market trends and fashion developments. Analyze consumer buying patterns to predict future product needs.

 Sales Performance & Inventory Management: Monitor sales performance, stock levels, and discounting strategies for both online and offline channels.

 Vendor Relations & Negotiations: Manage relationships with existing suppliers, source new suppliers, and support contract negotiations when needed.

 Collaboration with Teams: Work closely with the retail, logistics, and backend teams to ensure smooth operations and ensure stock levels meet demand.

 Feedback Loop: Collect feedback from retail teams on product performance and report findings to the senior buying team.

 Travel & Retail Store Visits: Travel within the city and outstation as needed to attend trade fairs, meet suppliers, and oversee store-level product availability and merchandising.

 Reporting & Forecasting: Prepare reports and forecasts for sales levels, stock, and new product ranges to present to senior buyers.

 Trend & Range Presentations: Present new product ranges and updates to senior management and other stakeholders.

Other Duties:

 Attend trade fairs to discover and select new products for future collections.

 Liaise with shop personnel to ensure the product supply aligns with retail demand and trends.

 Understand vendor management principles, including allocation, pricing, and negotiation strategies.

Key Requirements:

 Skills & Experience:

o 0-3 years of experience in fashion and lifestyle retail, merchandising, or buying.

o Strong understanding of fashion trends, consumer behavior, and the retail market.

o Ability to analyze sales data and make informed buying decisions.

 Language Proficiency:

o Fluent in English and Hindi. Proficiency in Tamil/Kannada or other languages is a plus.

 Travel:

o Comfortable with intra-city and outstation travel for meetings, store visits, and trade fairs.

 Communication:

o Strong interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to interact with suppliers, retail teams, and senior management.
