The Fashion Designer (Production Department) will be responsible for creating new design concepts, developing seasonal collections, and ensuring smooth coordination between the design and production teams. The role requires an understanding of kids’ apparel trends, fabrics, patterns, and practical garment construction suitable for children.
Key Responsibilities:
Design and develop kids’ clothing collections in line with brand aesthetics and seasonal trends.
Create detailed tech packs, sketches, and spec sheets for sampling and production.
Coordinate with the production team to ensure designs are executed accurately and meet quality standards.
Source and select appropriate fabrics, trims, and accessories suitable for kidswear.
Work closely with pattern masters, tailors, and sampling units to ensure timely sample development.
Ensure garments meet comfort, safety, and durability standards for children.
Monitor production to ensure color, fit, and finish match design intent.
Maintain trend awareness through market research, fashion forecasts, and competitor analysis.
Assist in managing the design-to-production calendar to ensure timely delivery of collections.
Collaborate with the merchandising and marketing teams for photo shoots, catalogues, and promotional activities.
Skills & Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree or diploma in Fashion Design, Apparel Design, or a related field.
2–5 years of experience in kidswear design or apparel production.
Strong knowledge of fabrics, trims, patterns, and garment construction.
Proficiency in Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop, CorelDRAW, or similar design software.
Good understanding of production processes and quality control standards.
Excellent sense of color, creativity, and trend awareness.
Strong communication, coordination, and time management skills.
