Issue Bills of Lading accurately and within the required timeframe after vessel departure, ensuring they align with the shipping instructions.
Shipping instruction (SI) verification:
Review and confirm that shipping instructions are accurate, complete, and entered correctly into the system, following up on any missing information to avoid delays.
Filing and record-keeping:
File shipping bills electronically and maintain a comprehensive, organized system for all shipping and B/L documents for record-keeping and audits.
Communication and coordination:
Communicate with internal teams (e.g., customer service, operations), as well as external partners (e.g., customers, freight forwarders, carriers), to resolve discrepancies and ensure smooth processing.
