A Pizza Chef, also called a Pizzaiolo, is responsible for preparing and baking pizzas, managing dough preparation, handling toppings, maintaining kitchen hygiene, and ensuring food quality and customer satisfaction.
Key Responsibilities
Prepare pizza dough, sauces, and toppings
Make pizzas according to menu recipes and customer orders
Operate pizza ovens (wood-fired, gas, or electric)
Monitor baking time and oven temperature
Maintain food quality and presentation standards
Ensure kitchen cleanliness and food safety
Manage stock and kitchen inventory
Assist in menu development and new pizza recipes
Work with kitchen staff during busy hours
