Position: Chef
Reports To: Café Manager / Operations Manager
The Chef will be responsible for preparing high-quality food, maintaining kitchen hygiene, ensuring consistent taste and presentation, and supporting smooth café operations. The role requires strong culinary skills, teamwork, and the ability to work in a fast-paced café environment.
Prepare and cook menu items as per standardized recipes.
Ensure food quality, taste, and presentation meet café standards.
Maintain high levels of kitchen cleanliness and hygiene.
Handle food preparation, cutting, seasoning, and cooking.
Maintain stock levels and inform the manager about requirements.
Monitor freshness of ingredients and ensure proper storage.
Follow food safety and FSSAI guidelines at all times.
Maintain cleanliness of kitchen equipment and workstations.
Support in menu planning and introducing new dishes.
Reduce wastage and ensure cost-effective usage of ingredients.
Coordinate with service staff for timely food delivery.
Ensure adherence to portion control standards.
Manage kitchen opening and closing procedures.
Follow daily production schedules and work allocation.
Assist in receiving, checking, and storing deliveries.
Monitor cooking temperatures and maintain consistency.
Train junior kitchen staff when required.
Handle customer special requests (if applicable).
Ensure compliance with company operational procedures.
Maintain a positive and professional work environment in the kitchen.
Proven experience as a Chef / Cook / Commis in a café or restaurant.
Strong knowledge of food preparation and kitchen operations.
Understanding of hygiene, sanitation, and safety standards.
Good time management and multitasking skills.
Ability to work under pressure and during peak hours.
Team player with strong communication skills.
