The Junior Pastry Chef assists the Pastry Chef in the daily preparation and production of desserts and baked goods. This role focuses on learning core pastry techniques, maintaining kitchen hygiene, and supporting smooth kitchen operations while ensuring consistency and quality.Key ResponsibilitiesAssist in the preparation of desserts such as cakes, mousses, cheesecakes, cookies, brownies, and macaronsFollow recipes and instructions provided by the Pastry Chef to ensure consistencyPrepare ingredients including weighing, mixing, and basic baking tasksSupport daily production and packaging of dessertsMaintain cleanliness and organization of the pastry kitchen and storage areasFollow food safety and hygiene standards at all timesAssist with basic decoration, plating, and finishing of dessertsHelp with inventory checks and stock rotation (FIFO)Support senior chefs during bulk, custom, and special ordersProperly clean and maintain tools, equipment, and workstationsRequired Skills & QualificationsBasic knowledge or training in pastry/baking (certificate, course, or internship preferred)Willingness to learn and take instructionsAttention to detail and consistencyAbility to work in a fast-paced kitchen environmentBasic understanding of hygiene and food safety practicesPassion for desserts and bakingTeam player with a positive attitude
