We are seeking a versatile Import/Export & Customs Documentation Specialist to manage our end-to-end international trade compliance, government portal operations, and customs clearance processes. This individual will serve as the sole point of contact for all regulatory filings, cross-border documentation, and liaison with government agencies and logistics partners.
Key Responsibilities
Government Portal Management: File, track, and manage applications across relevant trade portals (e.g., DGFT, ICEGATE, Customs, Port Community System).
Import/Export Documentation: Draft, verify, and process vital shipping paperwork including Commercial Invoices, Packing Lists, Bills of Lading, Certificates of Origin, and Letters of Credit (LCs).
Customs Clearance & Compliance: Oversee customs documentation (Bills of Entry, Shipping Bills), determine correct HS codes, calculate duty/tax obligations, and resolve clearance holds.
Liaison & Coordination: Act as the primary liaison with freight forwarders, customs brokers (CHAs), port authorities, and regulatory bodies to ensure timely shipments.
Incentives & Licensing: Apply for and maintain trade licenses, duty drawback schemes, and export incentive programs.
Required Qualifications & Skills
Experience: 3–5+ years handling import/export operations and customs documentation single-handedly.
Technical Knowledge: Deep working familiarity with government trade portals, ICEGATE/DGFT workflows, HS code classification, and customs regulations.
Process Efficiency: Ability to independently manage high-volume paperwork with zero tolerance for compliance errors.
Communication: Strong negotiation and coordination skills with third-party logistics (3PL) providers and government officials.
