About the Role

My Lights is looking for a creative and detail-oriented Lighting Designer to join our team. The role involves designing lighting solutions that balance aesthetics and functionality, preparing lighting layouts, coordinating with clients and architects, and supporting projects from the initial design stage through execution.

Key Responsibilities

• Create and develop lighting layouts and placement designs using AutoCAD.

• Work with architects and interior designers to ensure lighting designs align with the overall space and project requirements.

• Conduct site visits and assess spaces to determine suitable lighting solutions.

• Prepare lighting drawings, layouts and presentations for clients and project teams.

• Coordinate with clients, architects, vendors and internal teams throughout the project.

• Coordinate lighting product orders with suppliers and follow up on procurement and delivery.

• Track quotations, purchase orders and project requirements to ensure timely completion.

• Check received lighting materials for quantity, quality, damages or discrepancies and coordinate with the relevant teams for resolution.

• Monitor project timelines and coordinate with different departments to ensure smooth execution.

• Attend client and architect meetings to understand requirements and provide design-related support.

• Visit project sites during installation and help ensure that the lighting is implemented according to the approved design.

• Maintain Excel records and documentation for day-to-day activities.

• Communicate project updates, client feedback and design changes to the relevant internal teams.

• Prepare PowerPoint presentations for design concepts or project updates when required.

• Report regularly to the reporting manager and assist with other responsibilities assigned by management.

Requirements

• Proficiency in AutoCAD.

• Understanding of lighting design, lighting technology and architectural layouts.

• Basic understanding of electrical systems related to lighting.

• Good communication and interpersonal skills.

• Strong attention to detail and organisational skills.

• Ability to manage multiple projects and work within deadlines.

• Comfortable coordinating with clients, architects, vendors and internal departments.

• Good working knowledge of MS Excel.

• Candidates with relevant experience in lighting, interior design, architecture or a related field are preferred.
