We are seeking a skilled Civil AutoCAD 2D/3D Designer to create detailed technical drawings and 3D models for civil engineering infrastructure projects. [1, 2]
📋 Job Summary
The Civil AutoCAD 2D/3D Designer transforms engineering sketches, survey data, and concepts into accurate 2D construction layouts and 3D digital models. You will collaborate closely with civil engineers, project managers, and surveyors to ensure technical accuracy and compliance with local municipal codes. [1, 2, 3, 4, 5]
🔧 Key Responsibilities
2D Drafting & Documentation
Prepare Layouts: Create detailed 2D engineering drawings for roads, grading, drainage, utilities, and site layouts.
Update Schematics: Revise existing engineering drawings based on redlines, field changes, and marked-up blueprints.
Cross-Sections: Generate accurate structural profiles, alignments, and cross-sectional views.
Permit Packs: Assemble standardized drafting packages for municipal approvals and construction bids. [1, 2, 3, 4, 5]
3D Modeling & Visualization
Terrain Modeling: Build 3D digital terrain models (DTMs) using topographic survey point data.
Conflict Detection: Assemble 3D utility layouts to detect and resolve spatial clashes before construction begins.
Render Visuals: Generate 3D perspective views, walkthroughs, and renderings for client presentations.
Volume Calculations: Extract precise earthwork cut-and-fill volumes directly from 3D surface models. [1, 2, 3, 4, 5]
Project Collaboration
Quality Control: Review all drafts against company CAD standards, scale limits, and layering guidelines.
Data Management: Maintain organized digital drawing files, external references (Xrefs), and version control systems.
Team Alignment: Attend design review meetings to coordinate infrastructure layouts across multiple engineering disciplines. [1, 2, 3, 4, 5]
