AutoCAD Designer

Job Role: Furniture Production Drawing – Card Operator (AutoCAD)

Key Responsibilities:

• Prepare detailed 2D/3D furniture production drawings using AutoCAD.

• Interpret design sketches, concepts, and client requirements into accurate working drawings.

• Develop cutting lists, joinery details, material specifications, and assembly instructions.

• Ensure standardization of drawing templates, layer management, and dimensioning.

• Coordinate with designers, production engineers, and carpenters for execution.

• Maintain drawing records, revisions, and issue control cards for production.

• Optimize designs for cost efficiency, material usage, and ease of fabrication.

• Check and verify drawings as per industry standards and furniture ergonomics.

Required Skills:

• Proficiency in AutoCAD (2D & 3D).

• Knowledge of furniture design, joinery techniques, and material properties (wood, plywood, MDF, laminates, hardware, etc.).

• Ability to read and interpret architectural and interior design drawings.

• Strong attention to accuracy and detail.

• Basic knowledge of manufacturing processes and CNC machine compatibility.

Educational Qualification:

• Diploma / ITI / B.Tech in Civil, Mechanical, Interior Design, or related field.

Experience:

• 1–3 years (entry level) or 3–5 years (senior level) in furniture production drawing / AutoCAD drafting.

Work Output:

• Accurate furniture production cards/drawings for workshop use.

• Cutting lists, hardware schedules, and finishing details for execution.
