Job Description: Civil Design Engineer
Position Summary
The Civil Design Engineer is responsible for planning, designing, and developing civil engineering solutions for residential, commercial, and renovation projects. The role involves preparing engineering designs, construction drawings, calculations, BOQs, and technical specifications while ensuring compliance with applicable codes, standards, and client requirements.
Key Responsibilities
Prepare architectural, structural, and civil engineering designs for residential and commercial projects.
Develop site layouts, floor plans, foundation plans, RCC details, and construction drawings.
Perform structural analysis and design in accordance with relevant IS Codes and local building regulations.
Prepare detailed BOQs, material estimates, and technical specifications.
Coordinate with architects, structural consultants, MEP engineers, project engineers, and site teams.
Review design drawings and provide technical support during project execution.
Conduct site visits for measurements, design verification, and technical inspections.
Resolve design-related issues and recommend engineering solutions.
Ensure all drawings and documents comply with statutory approvals and quality standards.
Review contractor shop drawings and approve design revisions where applicable.
Maintain design documentation, revision records, and project files.
Support value engineering initiatives to optimize project cost and performance.
Qualifications
Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering (B.E./B.Tech).
2–5 years of experience in civil/structural design.
Proficiency in AutoCAD (mandatory).
Working knowledge of STAAD.Pro, ETABS, SAFE, Revit, SketchUp, or similar design software is an advantage.
Good knowledge of IS Codes, NBC, and local building regulations.
