Mandatory Skills for Accountant

Strong understanding of Accruals and Prepayments
Proficiency in MS Excel (VLOOKUP, Pivot Tables, reconciliations).
Good grasp of basic accounting principles and double‑entry bookkeeping.

Strong communication skills

Understanding of audit processes and internal controls

Advanced knowledge of accounts payable processes and best practices
End‑to‑end invoice processing including PO/Non‑PO and 3‑way matching.
Strong analytical skills for invoice validation and discrepancy resolution
Proficiency in payment systems, banking platforms, and treasury management
Expertise in accounting software
Knowledge of expense accruals and accurate month‑end postings
Excellent attention to detail and accuracy in payment processing
Strong communication skills for vendor management
Understanding of payment methods (ACH, wire transfers, checks, Credit cards etc.)
Knowledge of internal controls and segregation of duties
Ability to identify and prevent payment fraud.
Problem-solving skills for complex AP issues
