Accountant – Job Description

Position: Accountant – Accounts & Finance

Location: Pune

Experience: 2–5 years

Industry: FMCG / Food / Manufacturing preferred

Role Overview

We are looking for a responsible, detail-oriented and proactive Accountant to manage day-to-day accounting and finance operations. The person will be responsible for maintaining accurate accounts, banking activities, receivables and regular payment recoveries, while ensuring that all financial records are updated and properly maintained in Tally and Zoho.

Key Responsibilities

Accounting & Finance

Handle day-to-day accounting and financial transactions.

Maintain accurate books of accounts and supporting documentation.

Record sales, purchases, expenses, receipts and payments.

Manage accounts receivable and payable.

Ensure timely and accurate accounting entries in Tally and Zoho.

Prepare regular accounting and financial reports for management.

Assist in month-end and year-end closing activities.

Banking

Handle day-to-day banking activities and transactions.

Prepare and maintain bank reconciliations.

Track payments, deposits, transfers and other banking transactions.

Coordinate with banks whenever required.

Recovery & Receivables

Monitor customer outstanding balances and payment schedules.

Manage daily and weekly recovery follow-ups.

Coordinate with the sales team and customers for pending payments.

Maintain updated receivables and recovery reports.

Ensure collections are properly recorded and reconciled.

Tally & Zoho

Maintain regular and accurate entries in Tally and Zoho.

Ensure customer, vendor and transaction records are updated.

Reconcile accounts and identify discrepancies.

Generate reports required by management.

Qualification & Experience

Graduate in Commerce / Accounting / Finance or equivalent.

2–5 years of relevant experience in accounting and finance.

Experience working with or handling accounts under a Chartered Accountant (CA) is preferred.

Strong working knowledge of Tally and Zoho.

Good knowledge of Excel.

Experience in FMCG, food, manufacturing or distribution will be an advantage.
