The Cold Storage Manager is responsible for the overall operations, maintenance, safety, and efficiency of the cold storage facility. This role ensures proper storage conditions, inventory control, manpower management, and compliance with food safety and regulatory standards.
Oversee day-to-day operations of the cold storage facility.
Ensure optimal temperature, humidity, and storage conditions as per product requirements.
Coordinate preventive and breakdown maintenance of equipment and infrastructure.
Ensure accurate receipt, storage, stacking, and dispatch of goods.
Maintain FIFO/FEFO practices to avoid spoilage and losses.
Track inventory levels and ensure proper documentation and records.
Minimize product damage, shrinkage, and wastage.
Ensure compliance with safety, and statutory norms.
Conduct regular audits and inspections of storage areas.
Ensure proper handling of temperature-sensitive goods.
Supervise supervisors, operators, technicians, and contract manpower.
Prepare duty rosters and ensure adequate staffing.
Train staff on SOPs, safety practices, and emergency procedures.
Maintain discipline and coordinate with HR on attendance and performance.
Control operational costs including electricity, maintenance, and manpower.
Prepare daily, weekly, and monthly operational reports.
Coordinate with management on capacity planning and efficiency improvements.
Handle customer coordination related to storage and dispatch schedules.
