Business Development Manager – Logistics & Freight Forwarding

Job Responsibilities:

• Identify and acquire new clients for logistics and freight forwarding services.
• Generate new business opportunities through cold calling, networking, references, market research, and client meetings.
• Develop and maintain strong relationships with existing and potential clients.
• Handle B2B sales and understand clients' import-export and logistics requirements.
• Prepare quotations, proposals, and commercial offers in coordination with the pricing team.
• Negotiate commercial terms and close new business deals.
• Achieve monthly and annual sales and revenue targets.
• Develop a strong sales pipeline and regularly follow up with prospective clients.
• Coordinate with the pricing, operations, documentation, and customer service teams for smooth execution of shipments.
• Identify opportunities to increase business from existing clients.
• Monitor market trends, competitor activities, and freight market conditions.
• Maintain proper records of client meetings, leads, quotations, follow-ups, and business conversions.
• Handle key accounts and ensure long-term customer relationships.
• Regularly report sales activities, business development progress, and revenue status to management.

Required Skills:

• 10–20 years of experience in Sales / Business Development in Logistics or Freight Forwarding.
• Strong experience in new client acquisition and business generation.
• Good knowledge of Import & Export, Freight Forwarding, Ocean Freight and Air Freight.
• Strong B2B sales and client relationship management skills.
• Good negotiation, communication, presentation, and closing skills.
• Existing client network in the Logistics/Freight Forwarding industry will be an advantage.
• Ability to generate leads independently and convert them into business.
• Target-oriented approach with strong revenue-generation capabilities.
• Good coordination skills with Pricing and Operations teams.
