Regional Operations Subject Matter Expert - Supply Chain Platform

Regional Ops SME The Subject Matter Expert (SME) will play a critical role in the configuration and implementation of the SCP (Supply Chain Platform) system for North America (NAM) accounts. This includes setup and maintenance of master data, order management, shipping booking, transportation management, carrier booking, document core, and destination configuration. The SME will serve as a key resource for system configuration expertise, supporting both internal teams and external stakeholders during onboarding, testing, and live support phases. Location: GSC Chennai Job Level: JL3 Reports to: CI Manager with dotted line to NAM SME Number of Direct Reports: 0 Consulted About: SMEs are sought after whenever specialized knowledge, expertise, and insights are required to make informed decisions, solve problems, and drive organizational success in the various products/departments within Maersk. Primary Internal Stakeholders: NAM Subject Matter Expert Team NAM Customer Service Teams ( (incl CA and MX)) FPO, PPO and XPO teams Application Managers Primary external stakeholders: None expected Key Responsibilities: System Configuration & Implementation: Configure SCP system modules including master data, order management, shipping booking, transportation management, carrier booking, document core, and destination setup. Ensure configurations align with business requirements and support seamless operational execution. Collaborate with IT and platform architects to validate system design and integration. Testing & Support: Participate in User Acceptance Testing (UAT), Dry Run testing, and live support activities. Troubleshoot configuration-related issues and provide timely resolution. Serve as a point of contact for configuration questions during go-live and hypercare phases. Stakeholder Collaboration Work closely with NAM SME team. Provide guidance and consultation to internal teams on SCP configuration best practices. Support cross-functional collaboration to ensure alignment across systems and processes. Continuous Improvement Identify opportunities for process and system improvements. Contribute to documentation and knowledge sharing to enhance team capabilities. Stay current on SCP platform updates and supply chain trends. Issue Escalation and Collaboration: Escalate complex or unresolved issues to appropriate leadership or SME teams, collaborating closely to facilitate timely and comprehensive solutions. Provide regular communication and updates on progress to the SME teams. Hands on production of assigned customers Skills & Required Experience Minimum 3 years of experience in Supply Chain Management (SCM); SCP experience is a strong plus. Proven ability to configure and troubleshoot complex system setups. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects simultaneously. Excellent communication skills, with the ability to translate technical concepts for non-technical stakeholders. Detail-oriented with a focus on data accuracy and operational efficiency. Demonstrated ability to meet deadlines in a dynamic, fast-paced environment. Self-starter with a proactive mindset and a commitment to continuous learning.
