Job Description

Jey Key Rugs is looking for a Quality Controller – Rugs & Carpets responsible for inspecting handmade rugs at different stages of production and ensuring that finished products meet approved specifications, buyer requirements and company quality standards

This is a factory-floor position requiring regular inspection of rugs during production, finishing and final QC

Key Responsibilities

- Inspect rugs during weaving, finishing and final QC stages

- Check size, weight/GSM, colour, design, construction and overall appearance against approved specifications

- Identify weaving defects including loose or uneven weaving, bow/skew, lines, holes, missing yarn, incorrect patterns and other workmanship defects

- Check edges, binding, fringes, backing, trimming and overall finishing quality

- Check for stains, dirt, oil marks, visible glue, colour variation/abrash and other visual defects

- Verify measurements and permissible tolerances according to buyer requirements

- Compare production against approved samples, specifications and buyer standards

- Identify rugs requiring repair/rework and ensure corrections are completed before approval

- Conduct final inspection before packing and prevent defective rugs from being packed or dispatched

- Maintain QC inspection, rejection and rework records in ERP/reports

- Identify recurring defects and report quality issues to Production and Management

- Coordinate with weaving, finishing, production, merchandising and packing teams for corrective action

- Verify labels, barcodes, packaging and buyer-specific requirements before final packing

- Assist during buyer and third-party inspections when required

- Help reduce defects, rework and customer complaints through continuous quality improvement

Candidate Requirement

- Experience: 2–5 years in Quality Control/Quality Inspection preferred

- Experience in rugs, carpets, home textiles or textile manufacturing will be given preference

- Knowledge of handmade/handwoven rug construction will be a strong advantage

- Ability to identify weaving, construction and finishing defects

- Good knowledge of measurement and quality inspection

- Basic computer, MS Excel and ERP knowledge

- Strong observation and attention to detail

- Ability to coordinate firmly with production workers and supervisors

- Must be comfortable working regularly on the factory floor

Education

Graduate/Diploma preferred

Textile Technology, Textile Engineering or other textile-related qualifications will be an advantage
