About the Role
Marx Tradelink is seeking a proactive and result-oriented Ocean Freight Purchase Executive to strengthen our freight procurement team. The ideal candidate should have experience in negotiating ocean freight rates with shipping lines and NVOCCs, maintaining strong carrier relationships, and securing competitive pricing while ensuring timely service for customers.
Key Responsibilities
Procure ocean freight rates from shipping lines, NVOCCs, and freight partners.
Negotiate competitive freight rates, free time, detention, and service terms.
Build and maintain strong relationships with shipping lines and overseas agents.
Source multiple quotations for customer inquiries and ensure timely rate submissions.
Monitor market trends, freight fluctuations, and carrier capacity.
Compare carrier schedules, transit times, and pricing to identify the best options.
Coordinate closely with the sales and operations teams for pricing support.
Prepare customer quotations while ensuring target profit margins.
Maintain an updated freight tariff database and carrier contact list.
Track contract validity, rate expiries, and renewals.
Resolve rate discrepancies, invoice issues, and vendor-related concerns.
Participate in carrier meetings and quarterly business reviews.
Identify opportunities to reduce procurement costs without compromising service quality.
Ensure compliance with company procurement policies and documentation requirements.
Required Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Commerce, Business Administration, or a related field.
1–5 years of experience in ocean freight procurement or freight forwarding.
Experience working with shipping lines and NVOCCs is preferred.
Strong understanding of FCL, LCL, Incoterms, vessel schedules, and international shipping processes.
Excellent negotiation and communication skills.
Good analytical and commercial decision-making ability.
Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Outlook, and freight management software.
Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple quotations simultaneously.

Salary
₹15,000 – ₹60,000 per month (Negotiable based on experience and expertise)
