Picker / Packer

A Picker Packer is responsible for fulfilling customer orders in a warehouse or distribution center by accurately retrieving products from storage, verifying quantities, and safely packing them for shipment. Key duties include following picking lists, inspecting items for quality, packing products into containers, and preparing them for transit, often while operating equipment like pallet jacks or forklifts. They must also maintain an organized work area, adhere to safety protocols, and contribute to inventory management.
 

Key Responsibilities

• Order Picking:

  Select and retrieve items from warehouse shelves or storage areas based on customer orders and order lists. 

• Quality Control:

  Inspect selected products for any damage, defects, or discrepancies to ensure high quality before packing. 

• Packing:

  Securely pack the selected items into appropriate boxes or containers, ensuring they are protected for shipping. 

• Labeling:

  Apply correct labels to packages with shipping information and other necessary details. 

• Inventory Management:

  Assist in counting stock, restocking shelves, and maintaining accurate inventory records. 

• Equipment Operation:

  Operate warehouse equipment such as pallet jacks, hand trucks, or forklifts to move and transport products. 

• Work Area Maintenance:

  Keep the work area clean, organized, and free of hazards. 

• Safety Compliance:

  Adhere to all safety regulations and protocols to ensure a safe working environment. 

• Productivity:

  Meet daily and weekly productivity goals and quotas to ensure efficient order fulfillment.
