Picker / Packer

Picker packers are responsible for efficiently fulfilling customer orders in warehouses or distribution centers. Their core duties involve locating, selecting, and preparing items for shipment. This includes picking products from shelves based on order slips, verifying quantities and details, and packing them securely for transport. They also play a crucial role in maintaining accurate inventory records and ensuring a smooth flow of goods within the warehouse. 

Key Responsibilities:

• Order Fulfillment:

  • Locating and retrieving items from warehouse shelves according to order specifications. 

  • Verifying the accuracy of picked items against order details. 

  • Packing items carefully into appropriate containers (boxes, etc.) to prevent damage during transit. 

• Inventory Management:

  • Tracking inventory levels and reporting shortages or discrepancies. 

  • Keeping the warehouse organized and stocked for efficient picking. 

  • Maintaining accurate records of inventory movements. 

• Safety and Quality:

  • Inspecting items for damage or defects before packing. 

  • Adhering to safety procedures and guidelines to prevent accidents. 

  • Maintaining a clean and organized work area. 

• Equipment Operation:

  • Using warehouse equipment like scanners, pallet jacks, or forklifts (depending on the role and warehouse). 

  • Operating computer systems for order processing and inventory management. 

• Communication and Teamwork:

  • Communicating with team members and supervisors regarding order status and any issues. 

  • Collaborating with other warehouse staff to meet daily order fulfillment targets.
