Picker / Packer

Core responsibilities

• Picking orders:

  Locate and select specific items from warehouse shelves based on customer orders, often using handheld scanners or computer systems. 

• Packing products:

  Securely pack selected items into appropriate containers, using packing materials to prevent damage during transit. 

• Quality control:

  Inspect items for any damage or defects before packing to ensure customers receive the correct and undamaged products. 

• Inventory management:

  Use scanners to track inventory and maintain accurate records, and assist with restocking shelves. 

• Labeling and preparing for shipment:

  Label packages with the correct delivery information and stage them for shipping. 

• Loading and moving:

  Load completed orders onto pallets or into delivery trucks and use equipment like pallet jacks or forklifts to move goods within the warehouse.

• Attention to detail: Crucial for ensuring the correct items and quantities are picked and packed accurately. 

• Physical stamina: The ability to stand and walk for long periods and lift items up to a certain weight. 

• Basic math skills: Useful for inventory and order verification. 

• Time management: Ability to work efficiently to meet daily productivity goals and deadlines. 

• Safety consciousness: Adherence to all safety protocols and procedures is essential. 

• Basic technology skills: Proficiency with handheld scanners and other warehouse equipment is often required.
