Position Overview:
The Material Handling Equipment Maintenance Person is responsible for performing routine maintenance, troubleshooting, and repairs on material handling equipment such as forklifts, conveyors, pallet jacks, cranes, and hoists to ensure safe and efficient operation.
Key Responsibilities:
Perform preventive maintenance and routine inspections on material handling equipment.
Diagnose mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic issues and carry out necessary repairs.
Conduct safety checks and ensure all equipment complies with company and regulatory safety standards.
Keep accurate records of maintenance, repairs, and parts used.
Assist in the installation and commissioning of new equipment.
Maintain cleanliness and proper storage of tools and equipment.
Report major equipment failures or safety concerns to the Maintenance Supervisor promptly.
Follow all safety procedures and wear appropriate protective gear.
Support the maintenance team in other general duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
Proven experience in maintenance or repair of material handling equipment (e.g., forklifts, conveyors).
Basic knowledge of mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems.
Ability to read and interpret technical manuals and wiring diagrams.
Good problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
Ability to work independently or as part of a team.
Strong commitment to safety practices.
Relevant technical training or certification is an advantage.
