Core duties and responsibilities

Supervise staff: Oversee logistics personnel, which includes scheduling, training, and evaluating performance.

Manage operations: Direct daily logistics activities, including inbound and outbound shipments, warehouse operations, and order fulfilment.

Coordinate logistics: Schedule and plan freight, coordinate with carriers, and manage transportation and warehousing to ensure timely and cost-effective delivery.

Ensure compliance: Ensure all logistics activities comply with relevant laws, regulations, and company policies, including safety standards.

Problem-solve: Resolve logistical issues, track delays, identify bottlenecks, and find alternative solutions to keep goods moving smoothly.

Analyse and report: Track performance metrics, analyse logistics data to identify areas for improvement, and prepare reports for management.

Communicate: Maintain communication with vendors, suppliers, customers, and other departments to coordinate deliveries and resolve issues.
