Key Responsibilities
Safety Compliance
Enforce Tata Steel’s safety policies and procedures in road transport operations.
Ensure compliance with statutory requirements (Motor Vehicle Act, Factory Act, etc.).
Monitoring & Inspections
Conduct routine inspections of vehicles, equipment, and transport yards.
Check driver fitness, vehicle documents, and roadworthiness before dispatch.
Training & Awareness
Organize safety training programs for drivers, loaders, and logistics staff.
Promote awareness of defensive driving, fatigue management, and emergency response.
Incident Management
Investigate accidents, near-misses, and unsafe practices.
Prepare reports and recommend corrective/preventive actions.
Risk Assessment
Identify hazards in transport operations (e.g., overloading, poor road conditions).
Implement risk mitigation strategies to reduce accidents and delays.
Coordination
Liaise with Tata Steel’s logistics department, contractors, and external agencies.
Ensure contractors and third-party transporters follow Tata Steel’s safety standards.
Skills & Qualifications
Requirement Details
Education Diploma/Degree in Safety Management, Industrial Safety, or related field
Experience 1–2 years in logistics/transport safety, preferably in steel or heavy industry
Knowledge Road safety laws, Safety protocols, hazard identification
