· Optimize fleet distribution across regions to avoid delays and service gaps.
2. Vendor Management
· Maintain a strong and reliable network of transport vendors.
· Maintain strong communication with vendors to ensure consistent support.
· Convince and coordinate with vendors during high-demand periods to secure vehicles at fair rates.
3. Direct Contact With Lorry owners (Drivers)
· Coordinate directly with drivers for trip schedules, load details, and routing.
· By connecting directly with Lorry Owners (drivers), avoid vendor/broker charges—reducing budgets and ensuring vehicles are taken at actual market cost.
· Support drivers with route information and quick issue resolution.
4. Area & Village-Level Route Knowledge
· Geographical knowledge within each state - cities, towns, villages, and interior routes - helps in planning accurate and efficient route maps.
· Use detailed state-wise area knowledge to arrange vehicles quickly and match the best vendor for specific routes.
5. Market Vehicle Knowledge
· Stay updated about vehicle availability, price trends, and market competition.
· Understand peak-season costs and plan vehicle sourcing accordingly.
6. Negotiation
· Negotiate effectively with vendors / own vehicle drivers to secure cost-efficient rates.
· Ensure the best balance between rate, service quality, and timely delivery.
7. Trip IDs & Tracking
· Maintain proper records of Trip IDs and corresponding vehicle movements.
· Track vehicles in real-time for safety, punctuality, and operational transparency.
8. Knowledge of Vehicle Types & Tonnage
· Expertise in selecting the right vehicle based on load type and tonnage.
· Thorough understanding of vehicle categories like 7T, 10T, 14T, 16T, 18T, 19T, 20T, 22T, 24T, 25T, 28T, 30T, 32T. (T=Tone)
· Knowledge of vehicle configurations such as 10-tire (15 tones – 18 tones), 12-tire (25 tones – 30 tones), 14-tire - 16-tire (35 tones – 40 tones),Trailers ,Over Loaded Vehicles and which loads they are ideal for.
· Ensure correct vehicle allocation to avoid overloading and ensure safe, efficient transportation.
