About the Business:
Its is a leading manufacturing facility engaged in sheet metal fabrication, wooden furniture production,
and powder coating operations. The Stores function plays a critical role in ensuring timely availability,
accuracy, and accountability of all material resources.
Job Profile
Roles
Lead and oversee the Stores function, ensuring efficient inventory
management, accurate documentation, and seamless coordination with
cross-functional teams for smooth supply chain operations.
Responsibilities
Manage overall Stores operations including material receipt,
storage, issuance, and documentation in SAP/ERP.
Ensure timely processing of Material Receipt Notes (MRN)
and maintain accuracy of all inbound and outbound
transactions.
Implement robust inventory control systems including
perpetual inventory, labelling, codification, and tracking.
Conduct periodic physical verification of stock, investigate
discrepancies, and ensure closure.
Ensure quality compliance by coordinating with QA for
material clearance before inwarding.
Oversee systematic classification, stacking, and safe
custody of all materials.
Maintain close coordination with Production, Projects,
Purchase, and Finance teams for material requirements.
Drive 5S implementation and housekeeping standards in
Stores.
Train and develop Stores team in inventory control processes
and ERP system usage.
Prepare and share accurate daily, weekly, and monthly MIS
reports with department head.
Support internal and external audits with accurate
documentation and compliance.
Authorities
Maintain and update inventory data in SAP/ERP.
Authorize MRN and material issuance to factory teams.
Recommend process improvements in stores operations.
Key Results Areas
(KRA’s)
KRA 1: Inventory Accuracy – Maintain zero variance between physical
and system stock.
KRA 2: Timeliness - Ensure MRN entries within 2 working days and proper
storage of all materials.
KRA 3: Efficiency – Monitor consumption of C-class items using Scientific
Inventory Control (SIC).
KRA 4: Operational Excellence – Maintain 5S and workplace safety in the
Stores area.
KRA 5: Coordination – Ensure timely availability of materials to production
and projects.
Requisite Qualification
Essential HSC / ITI NCVT / DME (Mechanical/Electrical) or UG with
Experience
Preferred
Diploma / Graduate in Engineering with specialization in
Materials or Supply Chain.
Certified training in Materials Management or ERP systems.
Requisite Experience
Essential
7 to 8 years of experience in Stores/Inventory management
in a manufacturing industry.
Hands-on experience in ERP/SAP for inventory transactions.
Preferred 7 to 8 years’ experience of similar manufacturing industry like
Sheet Metal, fabrication, Wood furniture & SAP experience
Skills & Competencies
Strong knowledge of stores and warehouse management practices.
Proficiency in SAP/ERP and MS Excel for data management and reporting.
Good communication, interpersonal, and team management skills.
Attention to detail with problem-solving and analytical ability.
Ability to maintain discipline, accuracy, and compliance in stores operations
