Position: Logistics Manager (Import/Export)

Experience : Minimum 05-10 Years in Import/Export Logistics

Industry Preference: Manufacturing, Packaging, FMCG, or related

Job Summary:

The Logistics Manager (Import/Export) will be responsible for managing and optimizing international and domestic logistics operations. This role involves overseeing shipping, customs compliance, vendor coordination, and cost optimization to ensure timely and efficient movement of goods.

Key Responsibilities:

• Import & Export Operations:

• Manage and oversee all import and export activities, ensuring compliance with international trade regulations.

• Coordinate with freight forwarders, shipping lines, and customs brokers for smooth cargo movement.

• Ensure timely clearance of imported and exported goods by coordinating with CHA (Customs House Agents).

• Handle import/export documentation (BL, LC, COO, Shipping Bills, etc.) and maintain records as per statutory requirements.

• Logistics & Freight Management:

• Negotiate freight rates with shipping lines, transporters, and 3PL service providers.

• Optimize costs and improve efficiency in import/export logistics.

• Track shipments, resolve transit delays, and manage supply chain risks.

• Implement best practices for logistics planning, warehousing, and inventory management.

• Stakeholder & Vendor Coordination:

• Work closely with procurement, finance, warehouse, and production teams to align logistics with business needs.

• Develop and maintain strong relationships with freight forwarders, customs officials, and other logistics partners.

• Reporting & MIS:

• Maintain and analyze logistics cost data, shipment tracking reports, and import/export documentation.

• Generate periodic reports for management on logistics performance and cost optimization.

• Export/Import Strategy Development:

• Develop and implement effective export strategies to increase sales and market share in international markets.

• Identify new market opportunities and analyze potential risks.

• Coordinate with marketing and sales teams to align export goals with overall business objectives.

• Customer Relationship Management:

• Build and maintain relationships with international clients and distributors.

• Provide excellent customer service to ensure customer satisfaction and repeat business.

• Negotiate contracts and terms with international clients.

• Logistics & Supply Chain Management:

• Coordinate with logistics and shipping companies to ensure on-time delivery.

• Manage the shipment and transportation of goods to ensure cost-effectiveness and efficiency.

• Track international orders and resolve any shipping-related issues promptly.

• Market Research & Analysis:

• Conduct market research to identify emerging trends, customer needs, and competitors in international markets.

• Monitor sales performance and adjust export strategies accordingly to maximize revenue.

• Budget & Cost Control:

• Develop and manage export budgets, ensuring cost control and profitability.

• Monitor expenses related to export activities, including shipping, documentation, and customs duties.

• Cross-Departmental Coordination:

• Collaborate with production, finance, and legal teams to ensure smooth order fulfillment and adherence to financial and legal policies.

• Liaise with production teams to ensure product availability and timely production.

• Educational Requirements:

• Bachelor's/Master’s degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, International Business, or related field.

• Additional certifications in international trade or export/ Import management are a plus.

• Experience:

• 5-10 years in handling Import/Export logistics in a manufacturing or trading company.

• Strong knowledge of international trade regulations and customs procedures.

• Skills:

• Excellent communication and negotiation skills.

• Strong understanding of international logistics and supply chain management.

• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and export management software.

• Ability to analyze market trends and data to develop strategies.

• Strong organizational skills with attention to detail.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience in Logistics exporting/Importing products in specific sectors such as textiles, FMCG, electronics, machinery, etc.

• Familiarity with trade documentation software and ERP systems.

• It is a Full Time Warehouse / Logistics job for candidates with 6+ years of experience.
