Inventory Manager Job Description

  • Core Responsibility: Monitor, control, and optimize stock levels (raw materials, work-in-progress, finished goods) to meet business goals.

  • Key Duties:

    • Tracking & Reporting: Use software to accurately count, record, and report on inventory levels.

    • Procurement: Order new supplies, manage purchase orders, and source cost-effective suppliers.

    • Warehouse Operations: Oversee storage, handling, and movement of goods.

    • Forecasting: Analyze sales data to predict future needs and prevent stockouts or overstock.

    • Team & Supplier Management: Train staff, manage schedules, and build strong supplier relationships.

  • Skills Needed: Data analysis, computer literacy (inventory software), multitasking, problem-solving, attention to detail, and teamwork.
