Oversee day-to-day operations of solid waste collection vehicles (HCVs, LCVs, compactors, tippers, loaders, etc.).
Plan and monitor vehicle deployment for routes and shifts to ensure smooth operations.
Ensure timely availability of vehicles and equipment for all project activities.
Coordinate with operations teams to minimize breakdowns and ensure timely repair and maintenance.
Develop and implement preventive maintenance schedules.
Supervise workshop activities, vehicle inspections, and service quality.
Maintain records of repairs, maintenance costs, and service intervals.
Ensure adequate stock of critical spare parts and consumables.
Monitor fuel consumption and control pilferage or wastage.
Analyze cost per kilometer and suggest measures to optimize fuel and maintenance expenses.
Prepare and control the fleet maintenance budget.
Ensure all vehicles have valid documents: RC, insurance, fitness, permits, PUC, etc.
Maintain accident and incident reports; coordinate insurance claims.
Ensure adherence to pollution control, safety, and RTO norms.
Manage external service providers, workshops, and spare parts vendors.
Negotiate contracts and service agreements for cost efficiency.
Supervise and train drivers, mechanics, and helpers on safety and vehicle handling.
Maintain fleet utilization, downtime, maintenance, and fuel consumption reports.
Generate monthly fleet performance reports for management review.
Implement GPS tracking and telematics for vehicle monitoring.
