JOB DESCRIPTION
The Role: Modular Furniture Dispatcher
We are seeking a highly organized, detail-oriented, and proactive Modular Furniture Dispatcher to manage the crucial final stage of our supply chain: dispatch and logistics. This role ensures that all finished furniture products are accurately packaged, securely loaded, and efficiently delivered to our customers and project sites on time.
Key Responsibilities
1. Dispatch & Logistics Management
Scheduling: Plan and coordinate the daily and weekly dispatch schedules for all finished goods based on installation timelines, customer delivery requests, and truck capacity.
Routing & Optimization: Develop the most efficient routes and loading plans for delivery vehicles to minimize transit time and fuel costs.
Documentation: Prepare all necessary dispatch paperwork, including delivery challans, invoices, packing lists, installation instructions, and transit permits.
Vehicle Coordination: Coordinate with internal and external transport vendors to ensure the availability of suitable vehicles (trucks, tempos, etc.) for planned dispatches.
2. Inventory & Quality Control
Verification: Oversee and personally verify that all furniture modules and components (hardware, shutters, carcasses, accessories) are correctly picked, matched against the Bill of Materials (BOM), and accounted for before loading.
Damage Control: Inspect packaged goods for any signs of damage or improper packaging and ensure they are loaded securely to prevent transit damage.
Record Keeping: Maintain accurate records of all outgoing shipments, including product codes, quantity, destination, and dispatch time.
3. Team & Stakeholder Communication
Internal Coordination: Work closely with the Production/Warehouse Manager to understand the daily finished goods output and with the Installation/Projects Team to align delivery schedules with installation start dates.
Driver Management: Brief delivery drivers and helpers on delivery routes, documentation requirements, and customer site protocols.
Issue Resolution: Act as the first point of contact for any transit-related issues (delays, damages, site access problems) and coordinate a swift resolution.
Required Qualifications & Skills
Experience: Minimum of [2-4] years of experience in logistics, dispatch, or supply chain management, preferably within the modular furniture, manufacturing, or construction/project logistics industry.
Technical Skills: Proficiency in using logistics/dispatch software, ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Tally, or similar inventory management software), and MS Office (especially Excel).
Organizational Skills: Exceptional organizational skills with a keen eye for detail and the ability to manage multiple simultaneous deliveries.
Problem-Solving: Strong critical thinking and problem-solving abilities to handle unexpected logistical challenges.
Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills in [mention local language and English].
