Logistics Dispatch Executive

Job purpose:

The Junior Field Inspector is an entry-level technical role responsible for executing ground-level operations related to cargo gauging, sampling, and terminal logistics. The primary objective is to ensure high precision in measurements, maintain the integrity of cargo samples, and support the senior surveying team in maintaining terminal-side compliance and safety.

ROLE AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

1. Shore Operations & Tank Gauging

• Perform accurate shore tank gauging and manual dip readings.

• Conduct "Line-Walk" inspections of pipelines to ensure they are clear and fit for cargo transfer.

• Assist in shore tank and pipeline inspections as per the prescribed monitoring plan.

2. Tank Lorry Operations & Dispatch

• Supervise the loading and unloading of tank lorries.

• Ensure 100% accuracy in the sealing of tank lorries post-loading to prevent tampering.

• Prepare and issue Delivery Challans (DC) with zero errors in volume or product grade.

• Monitor lorry cycle times to ensure dispatch efficiency stays within targeted limits.

3. Sample Chain of Custody

• Collect cargo samples from shore tanks and vessels following strict SOPs (Standard Operating Procedures).

• Ensure proper flushing, labeling, and sealing of all sample bottles to prevent cross-contamination.

• Responsible for the safe handling and transportation of samples from the field to the laboratory or handover point.

4. Data Maintenance & Reporting

• Maintain and update product-wise and client-wise gauging registers immediately after field activity (within 1 hour).

• Ensure total consistency between field notes and official registers with zero data mismatches.

5. Asset Management & Equipment Hygiene

• Clean and maintain all field equipment, including Dip Tapes, Thermometers, and Sampling cans, after every use.

• Ensure equipment is ready and calibrated to avoid any operational delays in the field.

6. Safety & Professional Development

• Adhere to 100% usage of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) during all field and on-board activities.

• Participate in training sessions and technical shadowing with Senior Surveyors to improve technical skills.

• Identify and suggest cost-saving initiatives in field operations (e.g., efficient use of consumables).

Skills :

· Basic knowledge of cargo measurement and sampling techniques.

· Familiarity with safety protocols in hazardous areas (oil/gas/chemical terminals).

· Proficiency in basic arithmetic for manual cargo calculations.

· PhysicalFitness: Ability to work in outdoor terminal environments and board vessels.

· Integrity: High level of honesty in reporting field measurements.

· Punctuality: Strict adherence to shift timings and 100% attendance records.

· Teamwork: Strong coordination skills with Senior Surveyors and Port Control
