Job Description

The Cargo Executive is responsible for managing the day-to-day operations of air freight. This includes overseeing the acceptance of cargo, ensuring all documentation (like Air Waybills) is accurate, coordinating with ground handling teams for loading/unloading, and maintaining compliance with international safety and customs regulations.

Key Responsibilities

1. Documentation & Compliance

Air Waybill (AWB) Management: Verifying and issuing AWBs, ensuring all details regarding weight, dimensions, and contents are correct.
Customs Coordination: Liaising with customs officials to facilitate the smooth clearance of import and export shipments.
Regulatory Adherence: Ensuring all cargo meets IATA (International Air Transport Association) and airline-specific safety and security standards.

2. Operational Oversight

Loading & Unloading: Supervising ground staff and loaders to ensure cargo is stowed safely to maintain aircraft balance and prevent damage.
Cargo Acceptance: Inspecting incoming shipments for proper packaging, labeling, and identifying any hazardous materials.
Inventory Control: Tracking shipments using warehouse management systems to ensure items are dispatched on the correct flights.

3. Customer & Agency Liaison

Client Communication: Providing status updates to freight forwarders, shippers, and consignees regarding their cargo.
Conflict Resolution: Addressing issues such as delayed shipments, damaged goods, or documentation discrepancies.
Vendor Management: Coordinating with third-party logistics providers and terminal operators.
