Steward – Roles & Responsibilities
A Steward is responsible for maintaining cleanliness, hygiene, and smooth service operations in restaurants, hotels, cafés, and food service establishments.
Key Responsibilities:
Table Service Support
Set up tables with cutlery, crockery, glasses, and condiments.
Clear and clean tables after guests leave.
Refill water and assist guests when required.
Cleaning & Hygiene
Maintain cleanliness of dining areas, service stations, and pantry areas.
Ensure all utensils, plates, and glassware are clean and properly stored.
Follow food safety and hygiene standards.
Guest Assistance
Welcome guests politely and guide them to their seats.
Respond to guest requests promptly and professionally.
Coordinate with servers and kitchen staff to ensure smooth service.
Kitchen & Service Support
Assist in carrying food and beverages from the kitchen to service areas.
Help with banquet and event setups when required.
Ensure adequate stock of service items and supplies.
Equipment Handling
Operate dishwashing machines and cleaning equipment safely.
Report any damaged equipment or maintenance issues to supervisors.
Compliance
Adhere to company policies, grooming standards, and safety procedures.
Follow health and sanitation regulations at all times.
