Job Description

Job Description: Banquet Manager

The Banquet Manager is responsible for planning, coordinating, and overseeing all banquet events and functions. This role ensures that every event runs smoothly, efficiently, and meets or exceeds guest expectations. The Banquet Manager leads the banquet team, liaises with clients, and ensures high service standards are consistently delivered.

Event Planning & Coordination

Meet with clients to understand event objectives, requirements, and expectations.

Coordinate event logistics including menu selection, seating arrangements, and audiovisual setup.

Liaise with kitchen and service teams to ensure seamless execution.

Team Management

Hire, train, schedule, and supervise banquet staff.

Assign tasks and responsibilities during events.

Conduct daily pre-event briefings and post-event debriefings.

Operations Management

Ensure proper setup of banquet areas, including furniture, equipment, decorations, and tableware.

Oversee service during events, ensuring timing, quality, and guest satisfaction.

Ensure cleanliness and orderliness before, during, and after events.

Client & Guest Relations

Be the main point of contact for clients before and during events.

Handle complaints and resolve issues promptly and professionally.

Collect feedback and ensure continuous improvement in service.

Inventory & Cost Control

Maintain inventory of banquet supplies and equipment.

Monitor staff productivity and manage labor costs.

Work with procurement for cost-effective purchasing.

Compliance & Safety

Ensure all health, hygiene, and safety standards are followed.

Maintain compliance with food and alcohol service laws and company policies.

 

 

 

 

Qualifications & Skills:

Bachelor’s/Diploma in Hotel Management or related field.

Minimum 3–5 years of banquet or event management experience.

Strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.

Excellent organizational and time management skills.

Knowledge of food & beverage service protocols.

Ability to handle pressure and multitask during peak times.

 

Working Conditions:

Flexible schedule including evenings, weekends, and holidays.

On feet for extended periods during events.

May require lifting and carrying items (chairs, equipment, etc.).
