Restaurant Captain — Job Description
Job Title: Restaurant Captain
Department: Food & Beverage / Restaurant Operations
Reports To: Restaurant Manager / F&B Manager
Key Responsibilities:
Welcome and seat guests professionally and create a positive dining experience.
Take food and beverage orders accurately and provide menu recommendations.
Manage an assigned section and ensure timely, attentive service.
Coordinate with the kitchen, bar, cashier, and stewarding teams for smooth operations.
Ensure food and beverages are served according to restaurant standards.
Check guest satisfaction throughout the meal and resolve minor complaints promptly.
Maintain proper table setup, cleanliness, and service standards.
Process bills accurately and coordinate payments where required.
Upsell food, beverages, and special menu items to increase revenue.
Follow hygiene, food-safety, grooming, and company policies.
Assist in training and guiding waiters and junior service staff.
Monitor table turnover and communicate guest requirements to the team.
Handle special occasions, VIP guests, and special requests professionally.
Complete opening, closing, and shift handover duties.
Report operational issues, guest feedback, breakages, and shortages to the supervisor.
