Restaurant Captain – Job Description
Position: Restaurant Captain
Department: Food & Beverage
Reports To: Restaurant Manager / F&B Manager
Welcome and greet guests in a warm, professional manner
Supervise and coordinate activities of stewards/waiters
Ensure correct table setup, service standards, and cleanliness
Take food & beverage orders and ensure accurate order punching
Serve food and beverages as per service sequence and standards
Handle guest complaints politely and resolve issues promptly
Monitor guest satisfaction and ensure repeat business
Train new staff on service procedures and menu knowledge
Coordinate with kitchen and bar for smooth service operations
Ensure compliance with hygiene, safety, and SOP guidelines
Prepare duty rosters and assist in shift planning
Handle billing, cash/card transactions, and closing procedures
Strong leadership and team-handling skills
Excellent communication and guest interaction skills
Good knowledge of food, beverages, and service styles
Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment
Problem-solving and conflict-handling ability
Basic computer/POS system knowledge
10th / 12th pass (Hotel Management preferred but not mandatory)
2–5 years of experience in restaurant service, including supervisory role
Shift-based duties including weekends & holidays
Standing for long hours
