The Restaurant Captain is responsible for supervising the service staff, ensuring smooth restaurant operations, and delivering an excellent dining experience to customers. The role acts as a bridge between guests, service staff, and the kitchen team.
Supervise and guide stewards and service staff during shifts
Ensure proper table setup, cleanliness, and service standards
Greet and assist guests, take feedback, and handle basic complaints politely
Coordinate with the kitchen for timely food service and order accuracy
Ensure SOPs, hygiene, and safety standards are followed
Manage shift rosters and ensure adequate staffing
Support billing process and ensure smooth guest checkout
Train new staff on service standards and restaurant processes
Monitor stock usage for service items and report shortages
Minimum 1–3 years of experience in a restaurant or QSR as a Captain or Senior Steward
Good communication and leadership skills
Customer-focused attitude with problem-solving ability
Basic knowledge of POS systems
Ability to work in shifts, including weekends and holidays
Knowledge of food safety and hygiene practices
Minimum 10+2 / Diploma / Graduate (preferred but not mandatory)
