Job Summary
The Bakery Café Captain is responsible for overseeing the complete day-to-day operations of the bakery-cum-café outlet. This role ensures smooth service, exceptional guest experience, high standards of food quality, hygiene, and overall store presentation. The Café Captain acts as the face of the brand and ensures operational excellence at all times.
Key Responsibilities
1. Operations Management
Manage complete daily operations of the café.
Ensure smooth coordination between dessert display, cake service, and fresh café preparations.
Monitor opening and closing procedures.
Maintain proper stock levels of bakery items, café ingredients, and packaging materials.
Coordinate refilling of display counters and monitor product freshness.
2. Guest Experience
Deliver warm, professional, and attentive service.
Handle guest queries, feedback, and complaints effectively.
Ensure quick service while maintaining quality standards.
Maintain a welcoming and aesthetically pleasing café environment.
3. Food & Beverage Quality Control
Supervise preparation of fresh café items.
Ensure cakes and desserts are served as per brand presentation standards.
Monitor portion control and minimize wastage.
Maintain consistency in taste and presentation.
4. Cleanliness & Hygiene
Ensure the outlet maintains high cleanliness standards at all times.
Supervise cleaning of tables, display counters, workstations, and equipment.
Ensure adherence to food safety and hygiene protocols.
Monitor personal hygiene and grooming standards.
5. Inventory & Store Upkeep
Maintain inventory of raw materials, desserts, and packaging supplies.
Coordinate timely reordering of stock.
Ensure proper storage of perishable and non-perishable items.
Maintain equipment in working condition and report maintenance issues.
6. Sales & Reporting
Track daily sales and basic reporting.
Assist in upselling desserts and café items.
Ensure accurate billing and cash handling.
Required Skills & Qualifications
Prior experience in a café, bakery, or QSR environment (1–3 years preferred).
Strong leadership and multitasking skills.
Excellent communication and customer service abilities.
Basic knowledge of food safety and hygiene practices.
Ability to handle inventory and operational responsibilities independently.
