A hotel food packer is responsible for ensuring the safe, hygienic, and accurate packaging of meals for in-room dining, room service, and delivery. They verify order accuracy, manage packaging inventory, and strictly enforce food safety standards.
Key Responsibilities
Order Preparation: Assemble, sort, and package food items according to guest receipts and standard hotel portioning.
Quality & Accuracy Check: Inspect dishes for correct temperatures, presentation, and accuracy before packing. Ensure utensils, condiments, and napkins are included.
Hygiene Compliance: Strictly adhere to Food Safety and Standards Authority of India (FSSAI) norms and hotel sanitation protocols.
Packaging & Labeling: Securely seal containers to prevent leaks and label them with contents, guest room numbers, or delivery codes.
Inventory Management: Track packaging supplies (e.g., boxes, bags, cutlery) and notify supervisors of low stock levels.
Disposal & Cleanup: Maintain a spotless, sanitized workspace and follow standard practices for discarding expired or contaminated food.
Education: 10th or 12th pass minimum; formal hospitality or catering certifications are highly valued.
Experience: Prior experience as a food packer, steward, or kitchen helper in the F&B or hospitality industry.
Skills: Strong hand-eye coordination, attention to detail, basic numerical skills, and ability to work in fast-paced rotational shifts.
