Video Editor

About the Role: We are looking for a highly skilled Video Editor & Content Strategist to join the JustStart team. You will be responsible for the end-to-end production of our video content, ranging from deep-dive educational videos on complex business topics to engaging personal brand vlogs and short-form reels.

You are not just a "cutter"; you are a visual storyteller who can take raw footage and "find the hook" that keeps an audience watching.

Key Responsibilities:

• End-to-End Editing: Edit long-form YouTube videos and short-form content (Reels, Shorts, TikToks) from raw footage to final export.
  

• Strategic Storytelling: Structure videos for maximum retention. You must be able to simplify complex business information into digestible, engaging visuals.
  

• Motion Graphics & VFX: Design and implement high-quality on-screen text, lower thirds, call-to-action graphics, and data visualizations (charts/graphs).
  

• Audio Post-Production: Handle sound design, leveling, and background music selection to enhance the viewing experience.
  

• Thumbnails & Metadata: Assist in creating high-CTR thumbnails and advise on video titles and pacing based on YouTube analytics.
  

• Brand Consistency: Ensure all content aligns with the JustStart brand voice—professional, authoritative, and helpful.
  

• Asset Management: Organize and manage a library of raw footage, stock assets, and project files.
  

Requirements:

• Proven Portfolio: A strong showreel or portfolio demonstrating your ability to edit both "talking head" educational content and lifestyle/vlog-style videos.
  

• Software Proficiency: Expert-level skills in Adobe Premiere Pro and After Effects. Proficiency in DaVinci Resolve (for color grading) is a major plus.
  

• Speed & Deadlines: Ability to handle quick turnarounds (e.g., a 24-hour window for urgent Reels or Shorts).
  

• Creative Eye: A deep understanding of YouTube pacing, current trends, and retention-based editing.
  

• Detail-Oriented: A obsession with "clean" edits—no stray frames, inconsistent audio, or misaligned graphics.
  

• Communication: Excellent communication skills to collaborate directly with the founder and sales leads.
