Video Editor

Key Responsibilities

• Review and organize raw footage, selecting the best shots while discarding weak or unnecessary material.

• Assemble video sequences by trimming, cutting, and splicing clips to create a coherent narrative flow.

• Add transitions, visual effects (VFX), motion graphics, text overlays, titles, and animations.

• Edit and sync audio — including dialogue, music, sound effects, and voiceovers.

• Perform color correction, grading, and lighting adjustments for consistent visual quality.

• Collaborate with the creative team (directors, producers, clients) to understand project goals, briefs, and desired style.

• Create rough cuts, fine cuts, and final deliverables for different platforms (YouTube, Instagram Reels, TV, etc.).

• Ensure videos meet technical specifications (resolution, aspect ratio, file formats) and brand guidelines.

• Manage project timelines, organize media files efficiently, and meet tight deadlines.

• Stay updated with editing trends, software updates, and viral video styles (especially for social media content).

• Upload and optimize finished videos for various platforms.

Creative Design Aspects / Responsibilities:

• Develop and execute creative concepts that enhance storytelling.

• Apply artistic judgment to pacing, timing, rhythm, and emotional impact.

• Design visually appealing sequences using graphics, animations, and effects.

• Suggest innovative ideas to make videos more engaging or viral.

• Maintain narrative continuity and invisible editing (edits that feel natural to the viewer).

• Experiment with styles, moods, and techniques to match the project’s tone (e.g., energetic for ads, cinematic for films).

Required Skills & Qualifications

Technical Skills:

• Proficiency in Adobe Premiere Pro, Final Cut Pro, DaVinci Resolve, After Effects, and Avid Media Composer.

• Strong knowledge of color grading, motion graphics, and audio editing tools.

• Understanding of file formats, codecs, and video compression.

Creative & Soft Skills:

• Excellent storytelling and visual composition abilities.

• Attention to detail and creative problem-solving.

• Good communication and collaboration skills.

• Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple projects.

Education & Experience:

• Bachelor’s degree in Film, Cinematography, Media Production, or related field (preferred).

• Proven portfolio showcasing diverse editing work.

• 1–5+ years of experience (depending on Junior/Senior level).
