Education Counsellor

An Education Counselor provides guidance to students regarding their academic paths, career choices, and personal development. They assess student needs, offer support in selecting educational programs or institutions, and help navigate admissions processes, scholarships, and course selection.

Responsibilities:

• Student Counseling:

  • Advise students on educational and career goals.

  • Provide one-on-one and group counseling sessions.

  • Assess students’ interests, skills, and academic performance.

• Academic Planning:

  • Help students select appropriate courses or programs based on their goals.

  • Provide information about different schools, colleges, and universities.

  • Guide students on entrance exams, application procedures, and deadlines.

• Admissions Assistance:

  • Assist in college/university applications and documentation.

  • Help students prepare for interviews, essays, and visa processes (if abroad).

• Career Guidance:

  • Advise on career paths related to various courses and degrees.

  • Conduct workshops on resume writing, interview preparation, and skill development.

• Relationship Management:

  • Liaise with educational institutions for up-to-date program offerings.

  • Build and maintain relationships with students, parents, and partner institutions.

• Administrative Tasks:

  • Maintain student records and counseling reports.

  • Prepare progress reports and feedback summaries.

  • Conduct regular follow-ups with students and parents.

Education Qualifications:

• Minimum Qualification:12th Pass.

• Bachelor’s degree in Education, Counseling, or related field.

• Certification in career or academic counseling is a plus.

• 1–3 years of experience in education counseling or academic advising.

Skills and Competencies:

• Strong interpersonal and communication skills.

• Knowledge of educational systems and career options (local and international).

• Empathy, patience, and the ability to motivate students.

• Organizational and time-management skills.

• Problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
