Job Summary
We are looking for a dynamic, result-oriented and student-focused Career Counsellor to guide students and working professionals in selecting the right career path, professional courses and job-oriented programs.
The Career Counsellor will be responsible for understanding students' career aspirations, explaining suitable programs, handling enquiries and leads, conducting counselling sessions, converting prospective students into admissions, and maintaining continuous communication throughout the admission process.
Key Responsibilities
1. Career Counselling
Counsel students, graduates and working professionals regarding career opportunities and suitable professional programs.
Understand the student's educational background, interests, skills, career goals and expectations.
Recommend appropriate courses based on the student's career objectives.
Explain career pathways, job profiles, eligibility, course structure and learning outcomes.
2. Student & Parent Interaction
Conduct one-to-one counselling sessions with students and parents.
Address queries related to courses, fees, duration, certifications, placements and career opportunities.
Build trust and maintain strong relationships with students and parents.
Conduct counselling through face-to-face meetings, telephone calls, WhatsApp and online meetings.
3. Lead Management & Admissions
Handle leads received through digital marketing, website, social media, references, walk-ins and other sources.
Make timely follow-up calls and maintain systematic follow-up with prospective students.
Convert qualified enquiries into admissions through effective counselling.
Maintain daily lead and admission records in CRM / Excel.
Follow up with students until the completion of the admission process.
4. Career & Placement Awareness
Keep updated knowledge of current job opportunities, industry requirements and career trends.
Explain relevant job roles and career progression to students.
Coordinate with the placement team to provide students with appropriate placement-related information.
Assist students in understanding interview preparation, employability skills and professional expectations.
5. Business Development
Achieve monthly counselling, admission and conversion targets.
Generate referrals through existing students, alumni and professional networks.
Participate in career seminars, college visits, education fairs and student awareness programs.
Develop relationships with colleges, educational institutions and other potential student-acquisition channels.
6. Documentation & Reporting
Maintain accurate records of leads, counselling sessions, follow-ups and admissions.
Prepare daily and weekly MIS reports.
Track lead conversion, pending follow-ups and admission status.
Ensure timely collection and verification of admission-related documents.
Required Skills
